This week the team discusses the Kinect less Xbox One and the price cut and how Nintendo needs to learn from Microsoft.

Sometimes the plan and overall strategy for a company simply does not end up working. There is no shame in admitting that things are not going as planned and changes need to be made in order to revive a product or brand.

The Xbox One was lagging behind in sales and changes have been made with a view to kick starting the console and catching up and potentially overtaking the PS4.

The Wii U is also struggling really badly and the team discusses whether it is time for Nintendo to let go of its rigidity and make swooping changes in order to bring the price down and revive its current flagship home console.

The Team also discusses Watch Dogs, Far Cry 4, Wolfenstein, Rockstars next game and a lot more in Episode 20 of the Order A Game Podcast.

I’m sorry, but I couldn’t listen to the whole thing.
All of your suggestions about the Wii U were absolutely fucking retarded.

The game pad is not difficult to hold OR to control unless you’ve got deformed hands.
Do any of you have deformed hands?
    I didn’t think so.

Here’s the fact that you’re overlooking about the game pad: IT’S THE ONLY TRULY DIFFERENTIATING FACTOR THE SYSTEM HAS OVER THE OTHERS.

It’s the only standard packed-in controller on the market capable of allowing players to manage inventories, get bigger minimaps, see game areas from different perspectives and viewpoints, directly interact with environmental features, set hot buttons for extra abilities, and a whole host of other things, all at the touch of a finger, on top of being THE BEST OFF-TV PLAY SOLUTION ON THE MARKET, BAR NONE.
THIS IS NOT A BAD THING.

The tablet is not holding them back!
If anything, THE GAME PAD ALLOWS THE SYSTEM TO DO MORE IN ITS GAMES THAN THE CONTROLLERS FOR THE PS4 AND XBONE COULD EVER DREAM OF DOING.
    You’d have to be an IDIOT to think that the PS4′s track pad, let alone the motion-controlled Kinect, could measure up to the capabilities present in the Wii U’s Gamepad.-_-;;

If you take away that game pad, the system loses its most interesting feature, and then you’ve got a system that does LITERALLY NOTHING DIFFERENT OR INTERESTING on the gameplay front, ON TOP of being a system that developers like Bethesda do not like the specs of enough to make games for it!

YOUR INSISTENCE ON GETTING THE PAD OUT WOULD ONLY KILL OFF THE SYSTEM QUICKER.

It’s a stupid, STUPID plan that would do more harm than good for it.

Also, IT’S NOT A FUCKING TABLET!

Name the last time you saw a tablet with all the buttons that this has.
    Oh wait. YOU CAN’T.
    Why?

BECAUSE TABLETS ARE TOUCH SCREEN ONLY!
THIS IS A CONTROLLER, NOT A FUCKING TABLET.

For Christ’s sake, you guys aren’t much better than Micheal Pachter at this point; you don’t want the best for Nintendo. You don’t know what IS best for Nintendo.
All you want is to see their latest system get thrown into a financial PIT.

The system is finally making profits for Nintendo and you suddenly want them to drop the price again….
The last thing the Wii U needs is to end up in the same non-profit situation as the PS3 started out in.
IT’S LITERALLY THE CHEAPEST NEXT-GEN SYSTEM ON THE MARKET right now.
It’s well worth the price as it is, even without bundles.

    Also, their E3 this year?

THEY’RE ACTUALLY DOING IT BETTER THAN THE COMPETITION.

Think about it: What do Sony and Microsoft have?
Streaming, and two live events, one each, where only the press are invited, and the live events only take place on one day of E3 each.

    Guess what Nintendo’s got?

A NEW DIGITAL EVENT, to take the place of their Nintendo Direct.

AN ALL E3 LONG STREAM FROM NINTENDO TREEHOUSE, which will be showcasing BEHIND THE SCENES LOOKS AT BRAND NEW THINGS FROM NINTENDO.[You read that right: ALL E3 LONG. Not just an hour or two up on stage.]

A HUGE AMOUNT OF ROOM ON THE SHOW FLOOR for all the things they’ll be bringing out for the press to play with.

A BEST BUY EVENT for people who CAN’T attend E3, which no one else is doing.

And on top of ALL of that, THEY’RE HOLDING A SUPER SMASH BROS 4 U TOURNAMENT, where BOTH THE PRESS AND THE PUBLIC can attend, at the Nokia Theater!
    Know what that means?
THEIR CROWD AT THE TOURNAMENT ALONE WILL BE BIGGER THAN SONY AND MICROSOFT’S CONFERENCE AUDIENCES.

And finally, regarding the third party support?
WHY ARE YOU NOT CONSIDERING THE SMALLER THIRD PARTIES AND INDIE GAMES?
AAA third party developers ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES THAT COUNT.
There are WAY more third party games on the system than you’re giving it credit for.

What Nintendo needs, is the following:

INCLUDE MORE GAMES OR CONTROLLERS IN THE BUNDLES.
    DO BETTER ADVERTISEMENT.
GET THIRD PARTIES TO QUIT MAKING PORTS AND START MAKING EXCLUSIVES.

That’s all the Wii U needs to get its ass in gear and start selling.

You know what? I could go on, but I think I’m done here.
At least two of you don’t know what the hell you’re talking about regarding Nintendo.
You’re the reason why Game Theory was right; YOU DON’T REALLY WANT INNOVATION.
YOU JUST WANT MORE SPARKLES AND GRAPHICS.
    Pathetic and shallow.

@Smashbrolink, my first console was a gameboy and have had other Nintendo consoles over the years and loved them to bits but let’s be honest here they are not operating a charity. At the end of the day their consoles need to make money…I for one also want them to make games for an older audience too they have stuck to their comfort zone and still make the safe choices the Mario Karts, Zelda and so forth they need new IPs new characters. I’m not talking about graphics when I mean they need to shake things up a bit. As for their control pad I agree it differentiates them from the competition but if people are not going to buy the console something needs to be done. But I do agree that getting rid of the pad will be a Cop out move just like the whole Kinect fiasco. Let’s hope that the E3 announcements change their fortunes. I for one would like an even playing field more competition means better games for us gamers
